Submission instructions

  • The deadline for abstracts submission is December 1, 2009
  • Original unpublished papers and posters can be submitted for inclusion in the different sessions of the congress.
  • Abstract submissions will be accepted online only, through the congress website. Abstracts submitted by fax or any other method will not be accepted.
  • The abstract is considered to be received at the time that the author receives a confirmation message by email. The author will receive this email as proof of receipt of the abstract.
  • Number of authors may not exceed 6.
  • No changes are allowed in the number of authors or in order of appearance.
  • Certificates will be issued for oral and poster presentations, based on information provided at the time of abstract submission.
  • Abstracts must be submitted using the fonts Arial or Helvetica (10 pt), single spaced. A maximum of 300 words is permitted.
  • The abstract must be structured as follows:
                                   - Introduction
                                   - Material and methods (conceptual development, as appropriate)
                                   - Results
                                   - Conclusions

  • Case scenarios must have a different structure:
                                   - Synopsis 
                                   - Assessment 
                                   - Diagnosis 
                                   - Outcomes 
                                   - Intervention 
                                   - Evaluation
  • A maximum of two tables can be include in the electronic publication of the Congress.
  • Maximum number of references in the abstract is 5; use those that are most significant for the poster or presentation.
  • If you want the full text of the presentation to be published in electronic format with ISBN registration, you must send the full text after you receive  confirmation of its acceptance, before 15 February 2010.
  • The full text should not exceed 5 pages DinA 4 (including bibliography and tables).
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to include the oral communication or poster depending on the number of submissions, timetable and scientific interest.
  • The Scientific Committee can also suggest the change in an oral paper to a poster, what will be communicated in due time to the authors for the final acceptation.
  • A supplemental issue of the International Journal of Nursing Terminologies and Calssifications will be published, including the keynotes presentations and the list of accepted oral abstracts and posters.


  • ABSTRACTS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION must be submitted in English or Spanish. The oral presentations must be done in English or Spanish.
  • Oral presentations shall not exceed 15 minutes.


  • ABSTRACTS FOR POSTER PRESENTATION may be written and presented in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese or German.
  • Posters dimensions will be: 110 cm hight, 90 cm wide (43,3 inches high x 35,4 inches wide).

  • In order to present the accepted abstracts during the congress at least one of the authors must be registered to the congress
