Nanda International Awards Luncheon
Nanda International Awards Luncheon
The Nanda International Awards Luncheon will be held on Thursday 13th May. The attendance to the luncheon is included in the registration fee. |
The NANDA International Awards Luncheon is held to celebrate individuals within the NANDA-I membership who have demonstrated leadership in education, implementation, development, research and/or informatics applications of nursing diagnoses around the world. There are three categories of awards, as noted below. NANDA-I members submit recommendations to the NANDA-I Board of members meeting the criteria for each award. Additionally, the NANDA Foundation announces its research grant awardees at this meeting and the NANDA-I Journal Editor announces the Editor’s Award for best article(s) since the past conference.
Mentor’s Award – this award is presented at the discretion of the NANDA-I president, and is designed to honor an individual or individuals who have excelled at mentorship in their own practice setting (e.g., mentoring students, clinical nurses, informatics nurses, researchers, etc.) as well as within the NANDA-I organization itself. Recipients of this award therefore receive the highest award possible from the organization. The first two recipients of this award were Dr. Marjory Gordon and Dr. Dorothy Jones.
Founder’s Award – this award is presented by the Board of NANDA-I to those individuals who have made a lasting, internationally-reaching contribution to education, implementation, development, research, and/or informatics applications of nursing diagnoses.
Unique Contribution Award - this award is presented by the Board of NANDA-I to those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of nursing diagnosis.
